 Our Program

Trinity Play School is a developmentally appropriate preschool. We focus on "play". Play is the work of children. All activities are "hands on". We teach our students everything they need to know to be lifelong learners and successful in Kindergarten. We do this in a developmentally appropriate and hands on way.

What should I look for in a DAP (developmentally appropriate program)?

The focus of the program should be enriching the whole child through play. The primary means of how a child assimilates knowledge is through their interaction with their world. The adults working with your child should also be using appropriate language and be seeking language from your child. It is also important to look that the artwork your child has made. Look to see if it was made by the child and see he or she is excited about the day. Most importantly make sure your child is happy.

Program Play

Goals for the toddlers and 2 year olds

Goals

- To be away from Mom and Dad and still be happy

- To listen to other adults

- To take turns

- To share

- To play appropriately with peers

- To follow instructions

We also have developmentally appropriate activities in art, music, literature, and outdoor play. Some baisc preschool concepts will be introduced such as colors, shapes, community helpers, weather, etc. The research in Early Education has been clear that young children learn best through play. We try to structure our activities accordingly.

Learn

Trinity Preschool is a developmentally appropriate program and our activities are age appropriate. Our children experience an environment that encourages success and self-control. This reduces frustration and limits the amount of discipline problems.

Age appropriate behaviors are expected of our children. We use positive discipline techniques that include guidance, redirection of behavior, positive reinforcement and encouragement. Repeated misbehaviors will be brought to the directors attention and a meeting with the parents will be set up to discuss causes and constructive solutions.
